Learn to Row / GO ROW Courses - 2025
Our Learn to Row course (also named 'GO ROW') is the perfect introduction to rowing, whether you’re looking for a fun new challenge or hoping to compete in the future. Taking place over four weeks, the course includes a mix of on-water sessions and land-based training, teaching you the fundamentals of rowing technique, boat handling, and fitness.
With experienced coaches and a friendly club atmosphere, you'll gain confidence on the water and have the chance to continue rowing with us beyond the course. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and have fun!
NOTE: Places on our GO ROW / Learn to Row course will be released after the open day takes place. We strongly encourage you to attend the open day, as it’s the best way to experience the club first-hand, meet our coaching team, and try erg rowing in a relaxed environment. It's a great way to get a feel for the club environment and see if it’s the right fit for you, and also a great way to meet other beginners who may be joining the course alongside you.

I did my Learn To Row course in Spring 2023 because I wanted another way to enjoy being out on the water - I began with no intentions of racing, yet I am about to begin my second regatta season in 2025 which is a testament to the addictive nature of rowing! The land training sessions are always satisfying (if brutal!) and I have had many amazing water sessions, from rowing alongside seals, to sunrises and sunsets, to rowing 21 miles across Loch Ness. But it is the community that Worthing Rowing Club actively fosters that makes it so special and joyful.

I signed up to the Learn2Row course in 2018 because I'd just moved to the area and wanted to make friends whilst keeping fit. Since then, I've won regional championships and a national medal. Joining the club is one of the best things I've done in my life. The friendly, community spirit here is incredible, everyone is welcome at training and Thursday dinners including my dog Maisie!
